Kindergarten PLayground

A safer, more joyful, and more creative space for our youngest learners

Why?

Kindergarten is often a child’s first experience of school. Here at Friends of Pine Forest, we know that play is essential for learning, regulation, and social development

Right now, the space doesn’t reflect the care we have for our kids. Our kindergarten playground should be a place of imagination, safety, and joy.

We believe our children deserve something more beautiful.

The vision

Fresh grass & clover for soft, natural play

Refreshed wood chip areas for safety and durability

Simple, creative structures built from reclaimed and natural materials

Spaces for imagination, movement, and exploration

How we’re doing it

This project is rooted in community.

Many of the improvements will be built by hand, using donated and reclaimed materials wherever possible.

Your support goes directly toward materials, safety improvements, and long-term sustainability.

How you can help

$25 – Helps cover grass and clover seed for play areas

$50 – Provides wood chips for safer landings

$100 – Supplies materials for creative sensory play

$250 – Contributes to our outdoor stage area

the playground now

  • Not enough shade

  • Lots of dirt (and mud)

  • Old play equipment

  • Bland and unimaginative

The progress

We spent some fantastic days in the sun right before the end of the school year renovating parts of the playground. The students LOVED it!

summer derailment

Over the summer, the district had to do some plumbing work… right across the kindergarten playground.

So we are starting almost from scratch once again. But we want to make this a great space for our youngest learners!
