Reserve the Pine Forest Spirit Rock for $20!

Your message will be displayed on our Spirit Rock for your reserved day, giving you a fun and colorful way to celebrate someone in our Pine Forest community.

All proceeds support Friends of Pine Forest Elementary and our efforts to make Pine Forest an even better place for our students, faculty, and staff.

How it works

Reserve your day.

Choose an available date on the calendar (linked below).

Paint your message.

You may paint the Spirit Rock anytime after 4:00 PM on your reservation date.

Enjoy your celebration!

Your artwork will be displayed through 4:00 PM the following day.

What if nobody is booked after you?

Your artwork may remain on the rock until the next reservation! Your $20 guarantees your reserved day, but we won't remove a painting just because its 24-hour reservation has ended.

Guidelines

  • Paint may be applied after 4:00 PM on your reserved day.

  • Please use exterior latex/acrylic paint.

  • Please do not use spray paint.

  • Adult supervision is required for students painting the rock.

  • Messages must be appropriate for an elementary-school community.

  • No profanity, political campaign messages, religious messages, commercial advertising, or discriminatory/hateful content.

  • Please don't paint over another family's message unless your reservation has begun and the previous message is no longer being displayed.

  • Keep the surrounding area clean while painting.

  • Please don't attach objects, glitter, stickers, or other materials to the rock.

  • Friends of Pine Forest Elementary reserves the right to remove content that does not comply with these guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Spirit Rock is $20 per reservation. All proceeds benefit Friends of Pine Forest Elementary.

  • Your reservation guarantees that your message will be displayed for your reserved 24-hour period, from 4:00 PM on your reservation date until 4:00 PM the following day.

  • Your artwork may remain on the rock until the next reservation. You don't lose anything if someone books after you, and you may get some bonus display time if the next day is still available!

  • No. Painting may begin after 4:00 PM on your reserved day so that the family who reserved the previous day has their full reservation period.

  • Absolutely! That's part of the fun. Families are responsible for providing their own paint and supplies.

  • Please use exterior latex or acrylic paint. Please do not use spray paint.

  • Yes! If you'd like your message displayed for multiple guaranteed days, you may reserve up to five (5) consecutive dates or various days on the calendar per semester, subject to availability.

  • Yes! Birthdays are one of the most popular reasons to reserve the Spirit Rock. We recommend reserving the day before the birthday so your message is displayed on the birthday itself.

  • Absolutely. Teacher and staff appreciation messages are encouraged!

  • Messages should be appropriate for our elementary-school community. Political campaign messages, commercial advertising, profanity, religious content, discriminatory or hateful content, and other inappropriate material are not permitted.

  • Weather is part of the fun of an outdoor Spirit Rock! Families are responsible for choosing appropriate paint and painting conditions. Friends of Pine Forest Elementary cannot guarantee that artwork will remain intact in severe weather.

  • It's a rock! That's part of the charm. You can paint over mistakes with your background color or incorporate them into your design.

  • Only after their reservation period has ended and your reservation has begun.

  • Yes! You can reserve it for a student, teacher, staff member, classroom, or anyone you'd like to celebrate in the Pine Forest community.

  • All proceeds support Friends of Pine Forest Elementary and our fundraising efforts to support Pine Forest School of the Arts.
